Regarding the customs process for parcels, it generally involves these steps:-
1. A customs officer examines your customs paperwork, including the shipping label and commercial invoice.

Dimension weight calculation for Japan courier service from India?
Two Different Types of Weight.
Actual weight :- The Actual Weight is Normal countable weight after the box packing weight
Volumetric weight:- The Volumetric Weight or Dimension Weight is Counted by the Box size in Length, Height, and Width and Divide the result by 5000. ( Length*Height*Width )Divide/ 5000= Chargeable Weight.
Dimension weight calculation:-
If you sent the package to Japan estimate the Dimension weight for your shipment, you can go for the calculation, Length (cm)x Height(cm) x width(cm) and you can divide the result by 5000.
For example,
If you are sending any bundle that Weight is equal to 10 kg, then the dimensions must be 40cmx50cmx40cm,
40x50x40 = 80,000 (80,000 Divide by 5000)
80,000/5000=16Kg
If you are sending many packages, calculate each weight individually, meaning “Total chargeable weight”. The chargeable weight is the dead weight or the volumetric weight is difficult.
Chargeable weight = Actual weight or volumetric weight whichever is higher.
